Synopsis of Poor Things

The film is based on the novel of the same name by Scottish writer Alasdair Gray. It combines elements of realism, fantasy, and science fiction to reshape the story of Frankenstein. It is set in the late Victorian era, where a woman named Bei, who escaped from her husband's abuse but unfortunately died, is... La (Emma Stone), after being successfully resurrected by scientists, her mind remains in the child stage, but she is also full of longing for the unknown world; she elopes with a slutty lawyer and embarks on an adventure of self-discovery, trying to get rid of the era's prejudice against women , pursuing equality and sexual liberation.
