Synopsis of Offside

In contemporary Muslim countries, women are still prohibited from appearing or entering certain places. In the 2005 World Cup qualifiers, the Iranian national football team will start a crucial battle with Bahrain at the local Tehran Stadium. Iranian fans came from all over to cheer and cheer for their beloved national team. These fans are all male, and the authorities have banned women from entering the stadium on the grounds that they may be exposed to obscene remarks when attending such an occasion. But there are still a few girls who come in disguise for various reasons, but it is not easy to get through the layers of defense of the soldiers... The film won the Silver Bear Award at the 2006 Berlin International Film Festival, the Best Actress Award and the Special Jury Award at the 2006 Guille International Youth Film Festival.
