Synopsis of The Fall

Movie stuntman Roy Walker (played by Lee Pace) was seriously injured while filming a sequence of jumping off a bridge on horseback, resulting in paralysis of his lower body and loss of consciousness. At this time, he was extremely desperate and despaired of all thoughts, and just wanted to die. Just when Roy was depressed, a 5-year-old girl named Alexandra (Catinca Untaru), who was admitted to the hospital because of a broken arm, broke into Roy's world. The two patients, who were very different in age, became friends. Alexandra reported to Roy's ward every day just to listen to the fantasy and magical story told by her friend. Roy used this casual story to attract the little girl, but he wanted to use the opportunity to complete his suicide plan... The film won the 2007 Berlin Film Festival Glass Bear Special Commendation - Best Film Award, the Sitges-Catalonian International Film Festival's Best Film Award, and the 2008 Austin Film Critics Association Award for Best Screenplay.
