Synopsis of Paradise Road

The story takes place in Singapore in 1942. On a quiet night, a dance party filled with a cheerful atmosphere is underway. At this time, a shell completely broke the peace here. The Japanese army bared its fangs and claws and set foot on this peaceful land. Under the arrangement of the military, family members of Australian and British troops stationed here boarded a ship returning home. Little did they know that the destination of this ship was actually hell. The Japanese army attacked the ship carrying women and children and imprisoned them in concentration camps. Life here is miserable, and everyone falls into despair. The occlusive environment, shortage of supplies, and mental collapse led to frequent violence in the concentration camps, and innocent people died one after another. At this juncture, a woman named Adria (Glenn Close) stepped forward and organized a choir, and singing became the only motivation for their survival.
