Synopsis of Island of Greed
Fang Guohui (Andy Lau), the leader of the mobile team of the Investigation Bureau, is a capable man who hates evil and hates evil. When he and his subordinates monitored the video arcade run by Zhou Chaoxian (Liang Jiahui), they obtained evidence that he ran an underground casino and took him to court. Unexpectedly, the judge was bribed , Zhou Chaoxian was found not guilty and released in court. Minister Hou (Li Liqun), who was linked to black money, secretly put pressure on the investigation bureau to order Fang Guohui to take a leave of absence and stop the investigation of Zhou Chaoxian. In order to further control Taiwan's politics, Zhou Chaoxian publicly stated at a press conference that he would quit the party and run for the Legislative Council, in order to confront the gang boss Ding Zongshu who was running for the party. When Fang Guohui was depressed, he was encouraged by female TV reporter Ling Fei (Wu Chenjun) and Minister of Legal Affairs Feng to return to work. However, he was targeted by Ding Zongshu, who wanted to kill him and then frame Zhou Chaoxian, killing two birds with one stone.
