A Bit of Fry and Laurie Season 1

Synopsis of A Bit of Fry and Laurie Season 1

It was co-starred by "British national treasure" Stephen Fry and House uncle Hugh Laurie. From 1986 to 1995, it was broadcast on BBC-1 and BBC-2 in the UK for a total of 26 episodes over four seasons. Different from mainstream sitcoms, each episode of this show is composed of several independent sketches. Except for passers-by A and B, Stephen and Hugh have taken on all the roles in the show: German and British military officers, intelligence agency heads and secretaries, company partners, hardware stores Boss and customer, psychiatrist and patient, etc. The plot unfolds as a dialogue between two people, aiming at a certain historical event or social phenomenon, either overtly criticizing or secretly ridiculing, and occasionally making fun of nobles, dignitaries and celebrities in the upper class, such as Margaret Thatcher and John May, who were then British Prime Ministers. Kit is not immune to becoming the target of ridicule. In addition to strong political jokes, the play also contains nonsensical jokes, British puns, and the simplest physical comedy. It is worth mentioning that the scripts for all four seasons were written by Stephen and Hugh. The New York Times commented: They use words with such ease that even Professor Higgins in "My Fair Lady" would be jealous...
