Synopsis of An Autumn Afternoon
His wife has been dead for many years, and the taciturn Yamahira (Kasa Tomozo) has become accustomed to a life of being cared for by his daughter Michiko (Iwashita Shima) who is about to be married. Daozi seemed willing to take care of his old father and never revealed his desire to get married. Shanping's old age pleasure was drinking and chatting with some old friends from middle school. During the dinner, whenever friends mentioned Michiko's marriage and wanted to introduce her to someone, Shanping would always refuse vaguely, but he was afraid of facing anything, so he didn't do it. Can't think clearly. But every time he drank, he would stop drinking in moderation to avoid being drunk and causing too much trouble to Daozi. At a gathering of middle school classmates that day, Shanping learned that the teacher's beautiful daughter had never married in order to take care of him, so he sent the drunk teacher home. When he saw that the beautiful woman was now old and haggard, he was shocked and thought of Taozi. Later, he hinted to Daozi to consider marriage matters, but Daozi understood that her father was driving her out and was very sad, so he persuaded her with good words and nodded in tears. The moment Daozi agreed, he felt infinite sadness in his heart.
