Synopsis of The Maltese Falcon

Sam Spade (Humphrey Bogart) and his partner Archer opened a detective agency in San Francisco. One day, a noble lady (Mary Astor) came to visit and commissioned them to find her missing sister. They immediately launched an investigation and discovered that the lady's sister was with a mysterious man named Ses. They thought it was just an ordinary disappearance case, but what happened was beyond their expectations. Archer was killed while investigating the case, and the legendary Seth was also killed one after another. The police suspected that Sam was having an affair with Archer's wife and killed his partner. Sam, who was deeply involved in the quagmire, continued to investigate the case. He found out that the noble lady had resold antiques with Gutman and other gangsters. After that, Gutman asked Sam to help find a statue - known as the "Maltese Falcon" priceless treasure. Sam began to study this mysterious statue and found that the truth was hidden inside. The film won the 14th Oscar nomination for Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Screenplay.
