Synopsis of dew

"Dew" is a bold innovation by director Haile Grima. He showed the bumpy development history of his motherland through a wanderer who returned to his hometown. The film spans three historical stages and the cost is not high, but the concept is very unique and it is worth watching. Film festivals and art theaters tend to favor this type of film. It tells the story of a "utopia" overtly, but secretly it closely follows the bumpy modern development history of the African continent step by step. In "Dew", the most touching moment is when the catastrophic male protagonist Ambert returns to his hometown and hugs his ecstatic old mother tightly. However, what happened next was not so pleasant. Through Ambert's eyes, the audience watched as local government troops rampaged through the town and kidnapped teenage boys as new recruits. Many local people fled to nearby caves in the mountains to live. Ambert called this cave Utopia - where parents hid their children during the era of never-ending war. Rural life goes on as usual. Ambert was absent-minded all day long. He lost a leg, but he couldn't explain why. What's worse, he seemed to be gradually turning into a soulless body. He often can't figure out the past and present, thinking that he is still living...
