The Secret of Kells

Synopsis of The Secret of Kells

In faraway Ireland, clever and innocent young friar Brandon (voiced by Evan McGuire) lives in a high-walled monastery. In order to resist the Viking invasion, the courtyard walls are being raised, and Dean Kara (voiced by Brendan Gleeson) strictly prohibits Brandon and the others from entering the outside world. One day, a monk with long hair and a sense of humor came to the monastery. He is the famous Iona painting teacher Idan (voiced by Mick Lally). Previously, Idan continued to create the important religious book "The Book of Kells". However, the alien invasion forced him to interrupt this sacred work. Brandon, who was attracted by the Book of Kells, was determined to help Idan complete the classic painting. For this reason, he did not hesitate to challenge the ban and walk out of the monastery. The outside world is full of novelties and dangers... The film won the Audience Award for Best Film at the 2009 Annecy International Animation Film Festival and a special mention at the 2009 Zagreb International Animation Film Festival.
