Synopsis of Countdown
Russian movie star Alexei Makarov plays the male protagonist - Major Smolin of the Russian Federal Security Service in "Countdown". "Countdown" tells the story of Smolin, who was captured by terrorists and escaped from the enemy's lair with the help of a Western reporter (played by British actress Louise Lombard). The terrorists were very angry about Smolin's escape, so they hijacked a circus where Smolin's daughter and her classmates happened to be going to watch a performance. In this incident, terrorists kidnapped more than 800 spectators.
