Synopsis of Half-broken Music Box

The pain of losing a loved one has caused Keiichiro Kuji (voiced by Tetsuya Kakihara) to lose his passion for life. He loves music and has not touched the guitar he once cherished for a long time. One day, Keiichiro saw a girl-like robot in the garbage dump. Her name was Xiaohua (voiced by Masumi Asano). Because the model was old, Xiaohua was cruelly abandoned by its previous owner. In this summer, this rainy season, Xiaohua and Keiichiro met, and a legendary fate began to develop. In order to cheer up the depressed Keiichiro, Xiaohua, who has a somewhat confused personality, learned to sing. However, more and more frequent functional interruptions made Xiaohua lose consciousness again and again. When he was dying, Keiichiro took Xiaohua to the seaside of her dreams. Looking at the blue sea and the friends around her, Xiaohua actually hummed the music composed by Keiichiro. Xiaohua left, but was replaced by a music box made of her core. Xiaohua's singing will always be with Keiichiro.
