Synopsis of White Material

West Africa is still in the post-colonial era, and the French government is eager to withdraw from the continent. Although the soldiers retreated hastily, they did not let go of Maria's (Isabelle Huppert) plantation because it was rumored that the rebel leader, Boxer (Issach DeBankole), was there. Hide here. The war was drawn here, but it coincided with the coffee harvest. Maria's black employees fled without a trace to avoid the war. And Andre (Christopher Lambert), the ex-husband who had built the African dream with Maria, already has a new love. Andre married a local black woman, had children, and planned to sell the plantation secretly. With her home in danger, Maria suddenly discovers that her lazy only son Manuel (Nicholas Duvauchelle) has shaved his head, rides a motorcycle, and shouts that he wants to join the rebels. On the scorching land, it seems that Maria is the only one left fighting...
