Synopsis of Dead Sign

Kang Kai (played by Xu Haiqiao), a student from the Academy of Fine Arts who grew up in the mountains of Guizhou, used his vacation to take his classmates Li Yan (played by Liu Zheng), Wang Zhi (played by Wang Jiexi), Zhu Shi (played by Long Yu), Meimi (played by Yang Lei) and Xindong (played by Jiang Song) returned to his hometown to inspect the Neolithic murals in the caves on the mountain. The miasmatic mountain road and a tragic car accident cast a gloomy cloud on Kang Kai's and the others' hearts, which seemed to foreshadow their next horrific trip. On a rainy night, young people came to stay at Kang Kai's house. Wang Zhi suddenly had a high fever and was bedridden. The next day, everyone left the sick Wang Zhi and set out to search for the cave. As a result, the young man was frightened by the coffins, poisonous snakes, scorpions, etc. found in the cave. However, the scarier thing was yet to come. Kang Kai and others ran into a wooden house while hiding from the rain, where they witnessed Wang Zhi's bloody body.
