Synopsis of Filthy Rich

The Southern Gothic family drama "The Rich And the Mighty" plays on the inextricable -- or, more accurately, the inextricable -- collision of wealth, power and religion. The series is adapted from the 2016 New Zealand series of the same name and was developed by Tate Taylor, the writer and director of "The Help", "The Girl on the Train" and "Scary Mom". The Munro family, a wealthy family in the southern United States, founded the Christian Sunshine Network (Sunshine Network) in their early years. Its gospel ministry has achieved the highest ratings of its kind in the world and is now valued at more than 2.2 billion US dollars. Just before the network launches its digital retail division, the head of the family, Eugene Monreaux (Gerald McCraney), dies unexpectedly in a private jet crash (or so it seems), leaving behind His beloved wife Margaret (played by Kim Cotrall), known as the "Oprah of the South," holds all the power. His ambitious son Eric (Cory Cotter) takes it for granted that it's his turn to be the top dog, and his daughter Rose (Aubrey Doyle) is budding in the fashion design industry...
