Synopsis of Brief Encounter

Laura (Celia Johnson) lives a simple and happy life: she has a husband who loves her, and a pair of lovely children. Every Thursday she used to take the train to a nearby place to buy groceries. On this day, in a small restaurant next to the train station, she got help from doctor Alec (Trevor Howard) when sand was blown into her eyes. A few days later, she met the doctor again in the restaurant. Since there were not enough tables, the two sat down to eat together and had a great conversation. It turns out that the doctor is also married and helps out at the local hospital here every Tuesday. The two agreed to meet again next week... Frequent meetings and companionship made the two married people more and more eager to see each other. They knew that they were in love... But like this Their love was destined not to last long in that era. Even if they loved each other deeply, they had to separate in the end.
