Synopsis of The Offence

Connelly plays Johnson, a criminal sergeant with 20 years of experience as a police officer, who is responsible for investigating three recent cases of molestation of girls in the town. Soon a little girl disappeared, and the police team launched a blanket search. Johnson found the girl in the woods. That night, two patrol officers discovered a disheveled man named Baxter, covered in mud. He was detained on suspicion of being an indecent criminal. After Johnson rushed back to the police station, he intuitively concluded that Baxter was responsible and beat him to death in an extremely brutal way. Afterwards, under cross-examination by Criminal Inspector General Carter Wilder, the thoughts hidden in Johnson's head began to burst out.
