Synopsis of Guess Who's Coming to Dinner

Matt (Spencer Tracy) is the editor-in-chief of the newspaper. He is a progressive thinker who opposes racial discrimination and advocates freedom and equality. It is such a man that when his beloved daughter Joy (played by Katharine Houghton) came to him with her boyfriend John (played by Sidney Poitier), Matt was completely dumbfounded. It turns out that John is a black boy. Matt never dreamed that the plots he usually saw in novels and TV would actually happen to him.
