Synopsis of 36 Hours

The focus of the plot of this excellent war film written and directed by George Heaton is not a battle, but a sophisticated psychological warfare. The plot describes American intelligence agent Jefferson Peake who was kidnapped by the German army two days before the Normandy landings and taken to Bavaria, Germany. When Pike woke up from a coma, he found that he was in an Allied hospital. The war was over and he had a wife named Anna. Psychiatrist Walter Gerber wants to discuss his amnesia with Peake, but he actually wants to get military intelligence about the Normandy landing from him. At a critical moment, Peak discovered that this was a scam and played a cat-and-mouse game of wits with the Germans. Finally, with the help of Gerber, he escaped back to the Allied positions. The suspenseful plot always controls the audience's curiosity. The three protagonists James Garner, Ava Marie Saint, and Rod Taylor also performed well. Unfortunately, the final escape action scene was relatively average.
