Synopsis of Misery

Best-selling author Paul Sheldon (played by James Caan) was driving on his way home with his latest work, "Misery." On the way, he encountered a terrible snowstorm, and the car rolled over. Paul's legs were seriously injured. Fortunately, he was rescued in time by Annie Wilkes (Kathy Bates), a nurse who lived alone on the top of a nearby mountain. Anne is Paul's number one book fan. Under her careful care, Paul's injury is getting better day by day. But when she learned that her favorite heroine had died in Paul's new book, she could not contain the anger in her heart, and used various means to exact revenge on Paul, gradually driving the writer into despair... The film is adapted from the novel of the same name by horror novelist Stephen King. The heroine, Kathy Bates, successfully won the Best Actress Award at the 63rd Academy Awards for her crazy and capricious performance in the film.
