Synopsis of Twelve Monkeys

In 2035 AD, humans were invaded by a virus developed by the 12 Monkey Army. Most of the humans died in this virus disaster. Only a few people managed to escape, but they could only survive in the dark underground. Scientists decided to send people to travel back in time to 1996 to trace the origins of the 12 Monkey Army. Prisoner James Cole (Bruce Willis) was selected as a volunteer. By mistake, Cole returned to 1990. When he described the catastrophe in the future to the people at the time, he was arrested as a mentally ill man and was detained by doctor Catherine Shirley (played by Madeleine Stowe). ) was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Cole escaped with the help of fellow patient Jeffrey Goines and returned to the future. Because he failed to find out the origin of the 12 Monkey Army, Cole was sent back to 1996 again. This time Cole discovered that the origin of the 12 Monkey Army was in Philadelphia. He found the doctor Catherine, and the two embarked on an adventure to track down the 12 Monkey Army!
