Synopsis of Rose Island

Gifted but misunderstood engineer Georgiou hits rock bottom when he's fired, his parents don't speak to him, and his girlfriend abandons him after he accidentally gets himself and his girlfriend arrested (long story...) he. Tired of the dreary Italian society of the late 1960s, Giorgio hatches an impossible plan; he will build his own island in the sea. Joined by a group of revolutionaries and deportees, the Republic of Rose Island was founded and declared independent, with Giorgiou named president. However, their team's values and resilience will be tested when the Italian Prime Minister considers Giorgio's ideal island to be Italy's number one enemy. Directed by Sidney Sibilia (The Bad Guys trilogy) and produced by Grøenlandia (The First King), Rose Island is a zany comedy based on a true story, filled with rebellion. Spirit.
