Synopsis of Devil's Silver Claw
In the 16th century, an unknown alchemist created a device called "Cronos" in order to achieve immortality. It can extend human life and restore youthful vitality, but it also requires humans to pay a corresponding price. After many twists and turns, the statue containing the devil's silver claws fell into the hands of the kind antique dealer Jesus Gris (Federico Luppi). He stumbles upon the device and the secrets it holds, and becomes dependent on it, allowing the devil's silver claws to turn him into a bloodthirsty monster for the sake of youth. On the other hand, the frail wealthy businessman Angela Dilla Gardea (played by Ron Perlman) learns that the devil's silver claw is in the hands of Jesus, so she does everything possible to get it, and does not hesitate to kill... This film is the feature film debut of director Guillermo del Toro (Guiller model Toro), and won the 1993 Mexican Ariel Gold Award and Best Actor, Best Director, Best Debut, Best Original Story, Best Production, Several awards including Best Screenplay and Best Special Effects.
