Synopsis of The Green Prince

The film is adapted from Mosab Hassan Yousef's personal memoir "Son of Hamas" which made it to the New York Times bestseller list. Mosab grew up in Ramallah, a city in the West Bank. His father, Sheikh Hassan Yousef, is one of the founders of Hamas and the leader of Hamas in the West Bank. At the age of 17, Mosab was arrested for gun smuggling and brought before the Israeli security agency ShinBet. At that time, Mosab was shocked by some of Hamas's methods: suicide bombs, pulling out fingernails during interrogations, pressing hot plastic to the skin, using noisy televisions to cover up painful moans, etc. He then agreed to become an informant for Israel, delivering intelligence for more than ten years under the codename "The Green Prince" (also the English title).
