Synopsis of Rob Roy

Robert (Liam Neeson) is a respected clan leader who was attacked by his retainer Cunningham (Tim Roth) when he applied for a loan from the Marquis of Montrose (John Hurt) to purchase livestock. After teaming up with the housekeeper to frame him, not only did he not get the money, but he also lost his best friend Macdonald (Eric Stoltz) and became a fugitive. After that, Cunningham continued to persecute Robert's family. He forced the witness Betty (Vicki Masson) to hang herself, and raped Robert's wife Mary (Jessica Lange). The kind and strong Mary swallowed the pain alone and sadness. Eventually, Robert was captured by Cunningham and sentenced to death by the earl. An innocent person is about to lose his life.
