Synopsis of The Little Princess

The story takes place in the Victorian period in England in the 19th century. The young protagonist Sarah (played by Shirley Temple) was born in a noble family, but her mother died when she was just born. Her father, Captain Crewe (Richard Greene), sent Sarah to an aristocratic school for girls because he was going to South Africa to fight. After learning of Sarah's aristocratic status, the principal treated her like a princess. But on Sarah's birthday, news came from the front line that her father had been killed and missing in action. From then on, Sarah's situation changed dramatically. The principal kicked her out of her beautiful room and treated her like a lowly servant. But the strong Sarah did not give up hope. On the one hand, she was still helping others, and on the other hand, she was looking for her "killed" father everywhere. She firmly believed that her father would not leave him. Finally, a miracle happened... This film is adapted from the classic "The Little Princess" by Mrs. F.H. Burnett, the world-famous children's literature writer.
