Synopsis of Sugihara Chiune
In the gloomy mid-20th century, Chiune Sugihara (played by Tomeaki Karasawa), who was born in an ordinary Japanese family, entered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan with his excellent language talent and intelligence analysis ability, and was assigned to work in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the puppet Manchukuo. He demonstrated his strength well in his work and was judged as "persona non grata" by the Soviet Union. In 1939, Chiune Sugihara went to Lithuania's embassy to monitor the movements of European powers at any time. Not long after, Germany launched a blatant lightning attack on Poland, and the devastating and far-reaching World War II began. Thousands of Jews became refugees as a result of brutal ethnic cleansing. They support the old and the young, looking for every possible and slim chance of survival. Eventually they flocked to the Japanese Embassy in Lithuania and begged Chiune Sugihara to issue a transit visa to escape. Forced by its alliance with Germany, Japan rejected the refugee request.
