Synopsis of Our Times
In the early 1990s, with the deepening of reform and opening up, the development of the information industry opened a new page. Xiao Chuang (played by Wu Lei) and Pei Qinghua (played by Hou Minghao), two young men from the Computer Research Institute of Yanjing University, started out as secretly making Hanka cards. They were selected by director Tan Qizhang to join the computer sales boom. The researchers headed by these two people saw the opportunity and took advantage of the favorable policies. They started as agents of foreign computers and transitioned to independent research and development. The story of their transformation from grassroots to a generation of business wizards also records the history of China's rapid development at the end of the 20th century. .
