Synopsis of The Nevers

The story follows the last years of Victoria's reign as London is plagued by the "Touched", a group of mostly women who suddenly exhibit unusual abilities, some charming, others disturbing. This group of people includes the mysterious, stingy widow Amalia True, and the outstanding young inventor Penance Adair. The two are champions of this new underclass, building a home for the Touched while fighting against all odds to win space for those who know they have no place in history. This drama is Joss Whedon's first solo creation since "The Doll" in 2009. He and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" screenwriters Jane Espenson and Doug Petrie are jointly responsible for the script. After Whedon was responsible for the first half of the first season, he withdrew from the project for some reasons. Philippa Goslett was selected as the new series operator and was responsible for the second half. Whedon still retained the title of creator and executive producer.
