Synopsis of 7 Prisoners

18-year-old Matus (Christian Malhoiros) hopes to provide a better life for a working-class family in the countryside. He and other teenagers from the town moved into the city and went to work in Sao Paulo, completely unaware of what was waiting for them: they arrived at a scrapyard and began to work day and night, under the vicious foreman and exploiter Luca ( Rodrigo Santoro) takes away their ID cards and threatens them with dire consequences if they try to escape. But, as Matus learned, even bosses take orders from others. Who must he become if he is to find a way out? "Seven Prisoners" is a tense thriller that tells the dark side of today's economic recession and the struggles of people within it. It explores in depth what power, unity and betrayal are. The film is produced by Oscar-nominated producers Fernando Merrills ("City of God") and Ramin Bahani ("The White Tiger") and is written and directed by Alexandre Morato ("Socrates" )'s second feature film, thereby confirming his strength as a new force in the Brazilian film industry.
