Synopsis of To the Summit

Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world, faces challenges from countless dreamers every year. Xia Boyu is the first Chinese "hardcore man" to successfully climb Mount Everest with prosthetics! In 1975, Xia Boyu joined the Chinese mountaineering team. While climbing Mount Everest, he helped his teammates and had both of his lower legs amputated due to frostbite. However, he did not give up his dream of climbing Mount Everest. In the past 43 years of experiencing double leg amputation, cancer, and pain, Xia Boyu climbed Mount Everest five times. With his perseverance and love, he was finally accepted by Mount Everest on May 14, 2018, and successfully climbed the mountain at the age of 69. top. This made him the first Chinese to climb Mount Everest without legs, and also the Chinese to win the Laureus World Sports Award for Best Sports Moment of the Year after Yao Ming, Liu Xiang, the Chinese Olympic Team and Li Na.
