Synopsis of The Sandman Season 1
After we close our eyes and sleep, we will enter a world called "Dreamland", which is where the "King of Dreams" (played by Tom Sturridge) constructs people's inner fears and fantasies. But since the King of Dreams was accidentally kidnapped and imprisoned for a century, his disappearance triggered a series of turmoil that would completely change the dream world and the world. In order to restore order, the King of Dreams must travel between two worlds and travel through time and space to correct his long-standing mistakes. Along the way, he re-examines his relationships with former enemies and friends, and encounters cosmic gods and mortals he's never met before. "The Sandman" is adapted from the award-winning and popular DC comic series written by Neil Gaiman. The 11 epic chapters led by the characters are rich in plot, intertwined with mystery and dark fantasy, and profoundly depict the various adventures of the Dream King. The series is developed and executive produced by Neil Gaiman and showrunners Alan Heinberg and David S. Goyer.
