Synopsis of The Cloister of Justice

It is adapted from a 2013 "treason parricide case" that caused a sensation in Hong Kong. Zhang Xianzong (played by Yang Weilun) and his friend Tang Wenqi (played by Mak Pei-tung) killed his parents in their apartment and dismembered them. The case entered court proceedings, and both of them denied murder charges. Two senior barristers, Wu Guanfeng (played by Lin Haifeng) and You Jiali (played by Su Yuhua), represented the two in court to defend themselves. However, prosecutor Zhu Ailun (played by Zhou Wenjian) questioned that the two had already arranged There seems to be no doubt that he planned to kill someone for money. However, after the exchange of offense and defense, the two barristers Wu and You used their respective eloquence skills to reveal the more confusing aspects of the case. Tang Wenqi even dismissed all the accusations when he appeared in court to defend himself. In scenes of fierce court debates, the two defendants acted out the drama of "genius" and "idiot", and the truth seemed to become increasingly blurred with each passing day. Nine jurors with different backgrounds competed for the right to speak in the lounge, and at the same time they were caught up in the debate on justice between right and wrong.
