Synopsis of Phantom Thread

The story takes place in London in the 1950s, where Reynolds (Daniel Day-Lewis) and his sister Sirio (Lesley Manville) run a house called "Woodcock House" together. In the high society of London at that time, it was the wish of every prince, dignitary and celebrity to wear a dress sewn by Reynolds himself. By chance, Reynolds met a waitress named Alma (Vicky Krieps) in a restaurant, and they fell in love at first sight. Reynolds led Alma into the colorful world, but Alma's eyes were always fixed on Reynolds' figure. In life, Reynolds is a particularly difficult and picky eccentric. As they get along day and night, conflicts often arise between him and Alma. Seeing Reynolds's attitude becoming more and more cold, Alma knew that she must take action to defend her love.
