Synopsis of Keep the Lights On

In New York in 1998, documentary director Eric (Thure Lindhardt) met closeted lawyer Paul (Zachary Booth) in a one-night stand. The two people who had a good relationship with each other finally officially dated. A long-distance love journey that lasted for ten years began. When Eric discovered that Paul had a habit of using drugs, he did not reject it and occasionally enjoyed it together. However, Paul's drug addiction gradually developed out of control. When Eric's documentary won an international award but could not find a lover to share it with, and when he saw his boyfriend drowned in drugs and male prostitutes in the hotel, Eric painfully realized that his love for Paul was like a drug addict. As addictive as sinking and helpless. Every quarrel, every compromise, every pull is overdrafting and hurting the other party, until forgiveness can no longer stop the tears... "Light Up" was honored as the saddest love movie of the year, was shortlisted for the main competition of Sundance, and won the Teddy Bear Award at the 62nd Berlin Film Festival. The movie is like a sentimental scroll or a love letter of laughter and forgetfulness, delicately and truly depicting the sweetness and pain of the gay world. Director Ella Sachs, who has directed "Blue Four"...
