Synopsis of Poltergeist

The successful and high-spirited Steven Freeling (Craig T. Nelson) moved into a suburban community in California with his wife Diane (JoBeth Williams) and three children. But soon after moving in, strange things happened frequently. First, the youngest daughter Carol (Heather O'Rourke) sleepwalks, talking to herself in front of the TV that automatically turns on the snowflakes on the screen. Then, unknown objects floated out of the TV, inexplicable earthquakes, broken glasses...all this made the Freeling family restless. Soon after, the terrorist incident gradually escalated, and Carol was eventually pulled into the television... The film won three awards for Best Horror Film, Best Costume and Best Supporting Actress (Zelda Rubinstein) at the 1983 American Science Fiction and Horror Film Festival; the 1983 British Television and Film Association Best Special Effects Award.
