Synopsis of Panic in the Streets

One night in New Orleans, gangster Blakey had a conflict with illegal immigrant Kochaca over a card game, so he and his friends shot Kochaca. After the body was discovered, Dr. Clint Reed of the Department of Public Health determined that the deceased had a lung disease. In order to prevent the outbreak of a large-scale epidemic without causing panic among the citizens, all people who had been in contact with the deceased must be secretly found within 48 hours. Dr. Clint and the police chief, Colonel Warren, jointly conducted an urgent investigation. At the same time, Blakey suspected that his accomplices had betrayed him, and there were also entanglements within the gangsters...
