Synopsis of Synonyms

Directed by Nadav Lapid, the story tells the story of a man who fled from Israel to France and only relied on a French dictionary to interact and live with others, but in the end he felt rejected by a foreign country. Yoyav (played by Tom Messier), a retired Israeli soldier, longed for a free and open France, but was brutally looted after arriving in Paris. Seeing that he was about to end up on the street, Yoyaf met a wealthy couple - the writer Ameler and his girlfriend Caroline, and was lucky enough to be rescued. Yoyaf, who had nothing, simply decided to change his life and become a Frenchman from then on. He began to refuse to speak Hebrew (his mother tongue) and actively learned French by reciting synonyms, trying his best to integrate into this ideal country in his mind. Interestingly, his past tragic experience in the military has become an excellent subject for Ameler's writings; and his body-building figure, which is comparable to Roman statues, has also become the target of Caroline's lust every night, never ending. Using him as much as possible to satisfy their sexual desires, the three of them developed an extremely subtle triangle relationship...
