Synopsis of Sleepwalk with Me
Mike (Mike Birbiglia) has dreamed of being a comedian since he was a child. When he is still in his infancy, he always comforts and encourages himself to move forward bravely when faced with many failures in his acting career. The reality of survival forced him to work as a bartender in a bar with comedy performances to earn extra money. His girlfriend Abby (played by Lauren Ambrose), who has been in love with him for eight years, works as a vocal teacher in a studio in Brooklyn. Mike's delay in getting married makes Abby very anxious, and Mike's sister Jenny Te's engagement became the trigger for their relationship. Faced with the unsatisfactory career and pressure from Abby and her family to force a marriage, the reality made it difficult for Mike to face it. He encountered mysterious sleepwalking incidents again and again, even endangering his personal safety... The film is adapted from the true story of Mike Birbiglia's transformation from comedian to director. Mike directed and acted in it, telling the story of his pursuit of dreams.
