Synopsis of The Pacific

In 1942, on Guadalcanal, the 1st Marine Division of the U.S. Army occupied the Japanese airport on the island, thus kicking off the strategic counterattack against Japan in the Pacific War. Three U.S. Marines, Leckie, Sledge, and Basilone, experienced the most tragic Pacific War during World War II in the Pacific. In the Pacific, the Japanese Army was arrogant and launched a fierce offensive against the US military, including many suicide attacks. From the tragic Battle of Guadalcanal, the landing at Cape Gloucester, the Battle of the Tropical Jungle, the battle for Peleliu, the Battle of Iwo Jima and the Battle of Okinawa. Leckie (James Badge Dale), Sledge (Joseph Mazzello) and Basilone (Jon Seda) witnessed the Japanese army's stubborn resistance until its final defeat, and also I saw with my own eyes that my comrades continued to die in this tragic battle. As the most expensive American World War II drama, HBO spent US$223 million on this project. This is the second time that Spielberg and Tom Hanks have joined forces after "Band of Brothers."
