Synopsis of The O.C. Season 1

Orange County is located in southern California, USA. It is a wealthy and lazy harbor town and a sunny tourist destination. The troubled boy Ryan (played by Ben McKenzie) grew up in a slum. One day when his brother taught him to steal a car, he was caught by the police. Public Defender attorney Sandy Cohen became his guardian. Supervising Ryan's life, Sandy allowed him to live in her Newport waterfront home. Sandy's wife Keston did not welcome Ryan's arrival. She was worried that Ryan would have a negative impact on her young son Seth (Adam Brody), and only agreed to let Ryan stay for a week. On the first night with the Cohen family, Ryan met the girl next door to the Cohen family, Marissa (Mischa Barton), and fell in love with her at first sight. In this way, Ryan rashly broke into this strange world of rich people, but was rejected by his peers...
