Synopsis of The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks

The story is adapted from the documentary literature by Rebecca Skloot. The title character, Henrietta Lacks, was a black woman suffering from cancer in the 1950s. In 1951, medical researchers illegally harvested cancer cells from her body, which resulted in a shocking medical breakthrough that not only changed the lives of many people.
