Synopsis of The Madness of King George

The story takes place in 1788 AD. George III (Nigel Hawthorne) led his people and troops to gradually gain a foothold on the European continent. Under the wise leadership of King George, the entire country was happy, prosperous, and full of vitality. However, one day, King George suddenly suffered from mental illness, going crazy and talking nonsense. Prime Minister Peter (Julian Wadham) felt extremely anxious and called in various famous doctors, but they could not cure King George. The cause of the illness could not be found. The ambitious Prince of Wales (Rupert Everett) wanted to take this opportunity to oust his father from the throne and succeed him. In order to avoid this happening, Peter had to find ways to delay time and cover up the truth. . Just when Peter felt that he could no longer hold on, a doctor named Wells (Ian Holm) appeared.
