Synopsis of carefree passer-by

The director of this film adapted it from Joseph Kessel's 1936, now-forgotten novel about the first Nazi concentration camps, with some changes in plot and character. Using flashback techniques, starting from the present and tracing back to the distant past, the film reproduces the situation in Berlin and Paris from 1933 to 1936, truly reflecting the history of that time. In the 1930s, the husband of the famous singer Elsa was captured by the German army. She came to Paris with her adopted Jewish orphan Max. In order to save her husband, Elsa tried her best, but in the end she had to endure the humiliation and commit herself to the Nazis. The husband was finally released. But soon, Elsa and her husband were shot dead in front of the Sansou Hotel. The orphan Max managed to survive. Half a century later, Marx avenged his adoptive parents by killing their murderers. And his wife Lina looks very much like Elsa fifty years ago. She is a very brave female fighter. But in the end, she suffered the same fate as Elsa. She and Max were both shot dead in front of the house.
