Synopsis of Rent-a-Cat

Sayoko (played by Minoru Ichikawa), who is beautiful and kind but has a somewhat weird behavior, lives alone in an old house in the suburbs with a group of cute cats. She seems to have a natural temperament that attracts cats, and she also loves these cute little creatures just like her grandmother who passed away two years ago. The carefree Sayoko puts the cats in a small trailer every day and walks along the river bank while singing the unique "rental cat" cry. In the process, she successively met Hisako Yoshioka (played by Reiko Kusamura), an old woman from a well-off family but lonely, Goro Yoshida (played by Ken Mitsuishi), a middle-aged man who has been working in Tokyo alone for six years, and worked at a car rental company. Yoshikawa (played by Yamada Maho), the branch manager who has been working hard for twelve years, and Yoshizawa Shigeru (played by Kei Tanaka), a middle school classmate who was involved in the underworld. The lazy hot summer, the free-spirited Sayoko, and her cats witness the various emotions, joys, sorrows, and joys of the world...
