Synopsis of Cabaret

In Berlin, Germany, in the 1930s, Nazi forces were on the rise. American female artist Sally (Liza Minnelli) is a very popular dancer in a club. Brian Roberts (Michael York), a British male teacher who has just arrived in Berlin, happens to be Sally's roommate. He supports himself by teaching English. Sally failed to seduce Brian, so she suspected that he was a gay man. Sally had a relationship with one of her friends Max (Helmut Griem), and later she discovered that Robert had also had a relationship with Max. On the other side, Fritz, a Jew, fell in love with Robert's student Natalia, a rich Jewish lady. In order to be with Natalia, he converted from a Christian to a Jew. Sally is pregnant, but she doesn't know whether the baby is Robert's or Max's. As the Nazis become more and more powerful in Germany, Robert decides to take Sally back to England...
