Synopsis of The Front

In the United States in the 1950s, television screenwriter Alfred Miller was blacklisted for supporting communism and could not publish his works publicly, so he found his old friend Howard Prince (Woody Allen) and asked him to use Howard's name Publish the work and give him a ten percent commission. So Howard transformed from a struggling restaurant cashier into a famous TV drama screenwriter. He also found other writers who were also blacklisted to serve as "leaders." Howard also met Florence Barrett (played by Andrea Marcovicci), a female staff member of the TV station. Florence admired Howard's talent very much, and the two fell in love. Actor Hecky Brown, also an actor on the blacklist, was asked to find out Howard's political background, but found nothing. Later, Florence resigned because of her communist views, and Hecky was unable to continue her acting career because of her communist background and committed suicide by jumping off a building.
