Synopsis of Operation Mekong

On the Mekong River in the Golden Triangle, at a section of the river known as "Ghost Pass", two merchant ships from China were shot and attacked by unknown persons. Not long after, the Thai military held a press conference and accused Chinese merchant ships of drug trafficking. Although the press conference announced that all crew members had fled, the bodies of thirteen Chinese crew members who had been brutally murdered were soon discovered. This audacious case shocked the Chinese police. Gao Gang (played by Zhang Hanyu), captain of the Yunnan Provincial Anti-Narcotics Corps, was ordered to lead a special operations team to Thailand and cooperated with intelligence agent Fang Xinwu (played by Peng Yuyan). According to available information, this case was carried out by Nuoka, a major drug lord entrenched in the Golden Triangle. Naw Ka is greedy, cruel, and daring. He is a cancer that threatens transportation safety in the Mekong River Basin. In order to bring this villain to justice, China, Laos, and Myanmar launched a trilateral joint patrol, focusing on raids on Nuoka's drug manufacturing dens. Gao Gang and others also went deep into the most dangerous situation and had a fierce duel with dehumanized drug traffickers... This film is adapted from real events.
