Synopsis of Kiss of the Dragon

Chinese agent Liu Jian (Jet Li) was ordered to go to Paris to help the police detect a local drug smuggling syndicate. Due to the extremely sensitive nature of the mission, his superiors did not inform Liu Jian of the specific mission details. After he arrived in Paris, he went to meet with the cooperating senior police detective Richard (played by Tchéky Karyo). The first time Liu Jian met Richard face to face, he witnessed him beating a suspect to death. He was actually a member of a drug cartel who premeditated the murder and framed Liu Jian. The agile and resourceful Liu Jian single-handedly repelled the pursuit of dozens of Richard's thugs, successfully escaped, and met the American Jessica (Bridget Fonda). Jessica's daughter was held hostage by Richard, and she was coerced by Richard because of drug abuse and became a prostitute. Due to Richard's frame-up, Liu Jian was charged with murder. Forced by the situation, he and Jessica had to join forces to deal with the insidious opponent...
