Synopsis of Quartet

The story takes place in a nursing home specifically for retired opera actors, where Villefort (Billy Connolly), Reggie (Tom Courtenay) and Sissy (Pauline Collins) are The star residents there. Every year, these three outstanding singers raise funds from the society through their trio to maintain the operation of nursing homes. Although the nursing home is small, every elderly person can find happiness and peace there. The appearance of Jane (Maggie Smith) broke everyone's peaceful life. This arrogant and aggressive woman is a famous singer in the opera world. At the same time, she is also Reggie's ex-wife. Forced by life, Jane had no choice but to live in this nursing home. The existence of her ex-husband Reggie made her even more aggrieved. With the joining of Jane, the trio became a quartet, but the rehearsal effect did not improve with the addition of a capable singer, and troubles and disputes ensued.
